This was my entry to the Tomie de Paola challenge. I actually had another illustration in mind, but this one was the one I submitted. Sometimes I wonder if I rethink things too much. I loved working on the challenge and look forward to this each year. I am not sure if the fact that the child is sneezing the critters right off his quilt quite got through, but that is what was intended.

Love your work! I saw this as the child having a cold and when he sneezed, the animals and flowers flew off. Actually, my husband and I went uptown in a cab this morning and on the ride I told him about this piece. He, too, thought it was a great idea!
