family - Linda Snider Ward

The family always seems to gather in the kitchen. Maybe the wonderful aroma brings them in or the conversation or just for the company itself, being together.

Autumn Puppy - sruble

I decided that a black dog for Halloween might be an interesting change from the usual black cat. I might have to tell a story about this puppy.

Autumn - Diana Ting Delosh

The Pumpkin Pickers © Diana Ting Delosh
Ink & Watercolor,
self promotion postcard and greeting card
Tabby Cat and Owl are picking pumpkins for Halloween, their favorite autumn holiday. They are looking for the perfect pumpkin to carve a jack o' lantern. It's a good thing they can both see well at night. Cat looks quite dashing in his pirate costume. Owl is also ready for halloween trick or treats all dressed up as a wizard.

Autumn Chill - Donna Pellegata

The little brown field mouse stood up on her hind legs. She balanced on a nearby twig to get a better look at the warm and cozy cabin at the edge of the trees. She had been near the cabin before, but feeling the chill in the air today, she wanted to go inside the cabin and look around.

Ginger Nielson ~ Back to School Nightmare

It is every little kid's back to school nightmare.
And how you deal with it can be very creative.

"The Bedroom ATE my homework!"

sruble:school

These two paintings for Watercolor Wednesdays  and the CBIG blog are from a YA zombie graphic novel I’m working on, starring Sheila the Zombie Cheerleader. The graphic novel isn’t in watercolor, but I thought I’d do some zombie watercolors this month because Watercolor Wednesdays has school prompts every week.

Sheila’s first day back at school was yesterday. (She wouldn’t let me post her first day picture last week. If I did, she said she’d, “eat my brains!”) Sheila’s best friend Amanda suffered through the first day with her. Here’s their first day picture, which Sheila said I could post today:

Sheila and Amanda are talking about the new teacher in the next picture:

The black line for both images is acrylic paint and the color is watercolor crayon. I love watercolor crayons because they make me feel like a kid again. I get to color with crayons, then paint. Fun!

Maybe next week I’ll do crayon resist … or maybe not. Halloween is coming, and ghosts are a whole lot of fun for crayon resist. :)

Summer Fun - Yvette Silver

This pen and ink drawing aims to capture the spirit of childhood summers, long before
the concept of "free-range" became something we only associate with chickens.
Now go out and play!

SMOKEY JOE • © Diana Ting Delosh • Ink & Watercolor

Smokey Joe loves to play hide and seek with the other animals in the summer garden. "Come out Come out wherever you are," he calls. No one answers. I think the other animals prefer to remain hidden. To find out more visit Diana's website or blog.
