Ginger Nielson ~ A New Book

Image
"If Wishes Were Fishes" by N. A. Sharpe is now available from 4RV Publishing LLC and is on their website as well as Amazon, Barnes & Noble and can be ordered in any and all bookstores. It was my pleasure to illustrate this book about a little boy who takes the "sayings" of grown ups quite literally. ©Ginger Nielson   2010

country (ripple): sruble

The sea birds have set up a satellite location in the country while the Gulf oil spill is being cleaned up. Have you ever seen seagulls, pelicans and chickens all under one roof? Me neither, but here’s how I imagine it would look: The prompt for Illustration Friday this week was “satellite,” and the prompt for the CBIG Blog this month was “country.” I decided to combine the two in a painting for the ripple blog (to help animals affected by the oil spill). Please visit sruble.com to learn more about my art and projects, or my blog to see more recent art.

These are 4 sketchcards I created for the Ripple Project - an initiative helping to raise funds to save the animals affected by the oil spill. If you wish to purchase any of these cards please go to http://ripplesketches.blogspot.com/. Each sketchcard on this blog is $10.00. Every penny is donated. The two Non-Profits that are benefitting are The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and The International Bird Rescue Research Center. We all can help! I was devastated when I saw the pictures of the oil covered animals and wanted to help. The four paintings below were done for the Ripple Project and were painted with acrylic paints ( see the painting process here ). One Sea Turtle Two Hermit Crabs Three Brown Pelicans Four Seagulls Each piece of art is 2.5″ x 3.5″ and is available with a $10 donation to help animals affected by the gulf oil spill. ALL PROCEEDS go to one of these two non-profit charities: The Institute for Marine Mammal Studie s and The International Bird Rescue Research Center . The buyer donates directly to one of the charities, ensuring that all the money goes to the relief effort. They then send the email confirmation and the art is shipped out to them. For more information on how you can help animals in the gulf by purchasing these paintings or other pieces of art, go to the Ripple Sketches blog . Thanks! RIPPLE: Pelican - Diana Ting Delosh

Image
CALL OF THE PELICAN © Diana Ting Delosh Ink & Watercolor Sketch art- 2.5 x 3.5" I usually think of Pelicans as large lovable, even comical birds so to see these beautiful creatures covered in black goo  is so-o-o-o tragic. This is  my art donation for the Ripple Project - helping to raise funds to save the wildlife effected by the deadly BP/Gulf oil leak disaster. Here's hoping that all our combined efforts will make a few ripples add up to a tsunami of good.   My original ink and watercolor may be yours as a gift for donating $10 to either 2 nonprofits,  The Institute for Marine Mammal Studie s or   The International Bird Rescue Research Center .  Please see  http://Ripplesketches.blogspot.com  for details on how to "purchase" and to see other art available for a $10 donation. Let's do something good together. To see more samples of my art Please visit my website http://dianadelosh.com or my blog at http://dtdelosh.blogspot.com

RIPPLES Sketch Blog

We don't have to just watch the BP/Gulf Oil Leak Disaster on the news, we can do something, even if it's only 2.5 x 3.5". Let's all join member, Kelly Light at http://Ripplesketches.blogspot.com  and make a few ripple art cards that will add up to a tsunami of good. In addition to the usual CBIG monthly theme illustrations, CBIG members may also post their Ripple Card Art here to bring more exposure to the effort. Art cards may be "bought" by giving a donation to 2 Non-Profits,   The Institute for Marine Mammal Studie s and   The International Bird Rescue Research Center  .  Please see  http://Ripplesketches.blogspot.com  for details on how to participate as either artists or as art "buyers" to raise funds to help save the Gulf wildlife from the deadly oil leak. As far as what's acceptable for the Ripple illustration theme - just think of all that's effected by the BP/Gulf Oil leak: the people, the environment, the birds, the mammals a
