Born in Long Island NY, all Doreen ever wanted to do was draw and ice skate! For school, she attended Carnegie Mellon University as a fine arts major and New York’s School of Visual Arts, where she received her degree in illustration and cartooning. In between, she sold ice cream at Disney World and ran errands for MTV. After graduation, she worked at both Marvel Comics and Russ Berrie. Now, she works and lives as a freelance illustrator and designer in NJ with her husband, new daughter and puppy Baxter Blue Cheese!

Clare Pernice was born and raised in England where a passion for children's books took root. Influenced by her storyteller father, costume sewing mother and a rendezvous with the renowned Roald Dahl, Clare always took an avid interest in the world of children's stories, art and design. A graduate of London's Central school of Art, she has since designed, illustrated and exhibited works in Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Charleston and NYC. She has designed children's clothes, toys and murals and has created costumes and props for film and stage.
Now she divides her creative time between Manhattan and the woods of Weston where she lives with her family. Her art studio is filled with words and pictures.

Marilyn Papas is an illustrator/designer who works in watercolors, gouache, pen and ink, and dabbles in collage. She illustrated Babysitter's Handbook for William Morrow and Co., Inc; A Pop-up Musical Christmas for Banner Press; spot drawings for The New Professional Chef for the Culinary Institute and other cookbooks. Marilyn worked on staff as a stationary designer for Tiffany and Co. She designed and painted four murals for the town of Brookline.
